FESTIVAL OF MEDIA NEWS

When GE Money Bank became a sponsor of the Czech Olympic Team they looked to outdoor advertising as a way of letting their existing and potential customers about the deal.
In a novel campaign the company set up classic Olympic events situations outside their biggest local branches.
A life-size 100m running track was positioned outside the bank’s head office in Prague, a pole-vaulter at the top of a jump was seem outside the Plzen branch and a long jump ran the full length of the Mlada Boleslav bank.
The actual size installations were impossible to miss by anyone visiting or passing the bank, and proved an interesting and fun way to promote the partnership.
The entire windows of smaller regional branches were covered in sporting scenes and where actual Olympic disciplines were in place, passers-by were encouraged to try and beat Olympic records by, say, running the track, bringing new meaning to the expression “brand experience”.
Since teaming up with the Czech Olympic Team early in 2008, GE Money Bank claims to be one of the most recalled partners of the team, with the partnership awareness increasing by 160% in the first month of the campaign.
