FESTIVAL OF MEDIA NEWS

A Dutch agency has turned to viral and digital out of home in an innovative way to get considered for new business. The aim is to get the client to call them rather than the more traditional model of the agency calling the client.
Ph/law – part of The Law Firm – is seeking to win work from in-car satellite navigation specialists TomTom and has filmed a viral that shows the kind of creative messages it might generate for the brand. The film shows individuals pasting up “for hire” labels on road signs under cover of darkness. The message is that once everyone has TomTom, the signs will be freed up for another use.
The film, which also tells TomTom boss Harold Goddijn to “call the advertising agency that doesn’t call you”, has been posted on YouTube.
The message has also been highly targeted being screened on giant digital out of home directly in front of the offices of TomTom as well as three other screens in other cities.
Ph/law is waiting to see if its approach has been effective.
