The Horse and Hound Boutique (Hast & Hund Huset) is a Swedish store which sells riding gear and pet care paraphernalia. It wanted to go the extra mile in showing that the store truly understands animals’ needs.
The store came up with a witty campaign spanning out of home and print, comprising of billboards scented with meat to attract dogs in the streets of Stockholm and then a series of print ads proving that the store “knows what dogs like”. A very simple but effective double-page spread showed one dog’s rear end on the left hand page and another dog’s front end on the right hand page, in recognition of the fact that dogs introduce themselves to other dogs in a much more personal way than humans. As you closed the pages of the magazine, the nose of one dog and the rear end of the other would come together.
